Optimist Clubs are people who want to reach out and help youth and the community. People like you and me. Members of the Bixby Optimist Club usually live in or work in Bixby, and have joined together to serve others and promote Optimism as a way of life. Our positive approach, upbeat outlook and commitment to creating a more optimist future for kids is what differentiates an Optimist Club from other volunteer opportunities.
The ways that we make a difference in Bixby youth and the Bixby Community are varied - through scholarships, youth oriented events, youth contests, Green Corn festival, park support, recognition for excellence, funding or partially funding a variety of youth activities at Bixby High school, or helping with special causes that benefit young people. Although we may represent different walks of life, we share a common trait - we know that we are making a difference in the lives of others.
